After12 years Youtube redesigned its original logo and added some amazing features into its website and mobile app. When YouTube was first launched in 2005, the website supported only one video format and that was 320 X 250 at 4:3 aspect ratio. With the passage of time, the company updated its algorithms to add-on new features and to take video streaming service to a whole new level.

Limiting its services only to single website way back in 2005, things changed drastically for the company and now YouTube video streaming service can be enjoyed on nearly every device (phones, tablets, smart TVs, game consoles, VR headsets) that holds an internet connection.

The company also introduced different services and apps for different categories of users including gamers, TV lovers and music fans. The company launched specially tailored services such as YouTube Gaming, YouTube TV, and YouTube Music respectively. Even for families that want to watch together, the company introduced YouTube Kids app and for those fans who want uninterrupted services, exclusive content and ad-free videos, the company came up with YouTube Red membership service.

For YouTube mobile app, the company added a bunch of new features that include cleaner new design, adapting to new videos smoothly, browsing and discovering the video while you watch any video, video sharing feature, speeding videos according to the speed which we prefer and gesture control.

While for the desktop version, the company updated the website’s look and applied material design to the website in order to deliver simple, fresh and intuitive user experience. As per the new feature, the background of the video turns into the dark while you watch to give a more cinematic look.
