The Soon to be Released Sony Xperia XZ1 Leaked!
What We Will See with the All New Sony Xperia XZ1
Everyone’s asking if it was a publicity stunt or a genuine leak and to be honest we’re not sure. We also don’t really care. Like thousands of people, we can’t wait to meet Sony’s new baby, the Xperia XZ1 after seeing the leaked specs and images.
While the proud parents were hoping to keep the details of their newest phone a secret until the 31 August 2017, when they launch the handset at a pre- IFA Conference in Berlin, it would seem the phone-Razzi couldn’t wait that long.
Review.ge, Geekbench, @OnLeaks, and Pocketnow are just a few of the sites that have shown off the images and specs and they’re all saying pretty much the same thing, albeit some with more information than others.

The Sony Xperia-ence
Looking at the leaked images, the high-end all-metal android handset uses the same designs from previous Xperia models, like the XZ, with a minimalistic design and the trademark bottom bezels and large top.
We personally don’t mind this, although there are those that think the manufacturer should change the design every once in a while.
Having said that there are a few tweaks here and there, for example, the flash and sensors next to the rear camera are horizontal but centered and it has a headset jack at the top and a USB Type-C port at the bottom.
Taking a closer look at the phone we see there is a power button, a fingerprint scanner, a volume rocker, and a camera button on the right-side of the phone, and on the left, there is a hybrid micro SD/SIM slot.
The Xperia XZ1 is available as both a 64 GB and 128 GB with 4 GB of Ram.
According to various sites, the Sony Xperia XZ1 comes with Android 8.0. Also called Android Oreo, it includes some major improvements like Autofill, picture-in-picture, as well as noticeable improvements to the notification system like the notification dots, categories and snoozing.
Users will be excited to hear about the improved start up time, battery life, the graphics rendering, and if you too are a lover of all things emoji you’ll be pleased to know there are 60 new ones included in Android Oreo.
Existing Xperia users know the camera quality is worth a mention but if you haven’t (yet) experienced it, then it’s definitely worth checking out.
The most talked-about feature of the Xperia XZ1 is the dual camera function. We’re talking a 23-megapixel primary camera that has face detection and laser auto focus with dual tone LED flash along with a 13-megapixel camera with HDR mode for better selfie taking.
We’ll say ‘cheese’ to that anytime.
While the images and specs have been circulating for a while the suggested retail price of the Xperia XZ1 has been unknown. Until now. Thanks to Roland Quandt, a well-known and credible tipster, we now know the XZ1 will cost around $770. He also shared the Amazon links.
The Xperia XZ1 is available in a range of colors, to suit most tastes, from Mineral Black and Platinum to Forest Blue and Deep Pink.
Are we excited about the Sony Experia XZ1? Yes, of course, we are. The ‘old’ design itself might not have us jumping up and down with absolute glee, but the new features including Android Oreo, the dual camera, the improved start up time and extended battery life and the affordable price tag is everything we’re looking for with our current phones.
As soon as we get our hands on the new model we’ll do an in-depth review that will help you make up your mind.
