Two years ago, Nexus revealed two smartphones running on the Android operating system named as Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. Now, according to Google’s own software policy, both the Android-powered smartphone models should get an OS updates of two years and security updates of three years.
Up until now the expected date for the security patch support update was September 2018. However, recently that date was changed until November 2018.
Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will get two more months of extra security updates. However, till now Google hasn’t given a reason for why the updates period was extended but users owning both the smartphones will be happy with the news.
The only thing that might pinch users who own these smartphones will be that after getting an Android 8.0 Oreo update users shouldn’t expect to get any other major update further down the line.
However, with additional two months of security updates for both the Nexus devices have received an amazing farewell in the end.
Nexus 6P (32GB) is available in Canada at the price of $749.99 CAD while Nexus 5X (32GB) is available at the price of $699.99 CAD.
