With rapid up-gradation of technical gadgets and the release of LG V30 getting some buzz in the Canadian market, LG doesn’t want its consumers to forget about its smart home appliances that can integrate well with the smartphone technology.

For this, LG (South Korean Company) announced that a total of 87 Wi-Fi connected LG home smart appliances such as refrigerators, dryers, dishwashers, washers, ovens, air purifiers, vacuums and other similar appliances are now upgraded to provide support to Google Assistant through eligible Android devices, Google Home, and iOS smartphones.

By providing support to smart appliances, customers will be able to control some of the devices by just giving commands on their smartphones with the help of Google Assistant or Google Home. Customers with the help of this innovative technology can easily operate their smart refrigerator and can control the ice maker, check air quality in the refrigerator and also detect the amount of time remaining in a dryer cycle.

In order to enjoy similar benefits, customers will need to download LG’s updated SmarthinQ app either from Google Play store or from Apple’s App Store. The app will provide access to the user to control the entire LG smart appliances.

In a press release, LG mentioned – “The more a consumer uses LG smart appliances, the smarter the appliances get,” meaning that LG SmartThinQ will commence to learn more about its consumer’s patterns and attempt to predict what its users need.

Additionally, LG smart home appliances also feature connectivity with online retail giant Amazon’s Echo “Alexa”. However, neither of them is officially available in Canada.

Song Dae-Hyun, president of LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company mentioned on the company’s blog that ““LG makes it especially easy for consumers to connect and interact with Wi-Fi built into virtually all of its 2017 appliances,”, “Our collaboration with Google is an example of our strategy of Open Partnership, Open Platform, and Open Connectivity.”
