Good news for all Canadians as Google Home will now be available for pre-order in Canada and the device will officially go on sale at some of the Canadian stores this month by June 26th.
Google also made an announcement at I/O 2017 that the company’s voice activated assistance will soon hit the Canadian market by this summer. However the new smart home assistant device that features built in Google assistant is available for pre-order at Best Buy and on Google’s official online stores.
The price of Google Home in Canada is set at $179 CAD which is almost similar to the price of the device i.e. $129 U.S (after currency conversion). It should be kept in mind that the delivery of the product might take 2-3 weeks when ordered from online Google store. Whereas “Best Buy” does offer discounts as well as other free offers on the purchase of the device. The latest one offered by the retailer includes free Chromecast on purchase of the Google Home device.
Google Home was launched on November 4th in United States and it’s the California-based company’s answer to similar products i.e. Amazon’s Echo. Also there are rumors that soon Apple will release their own smart home device which will be so called as the “Siri Speaker”. Recently Amazon launched a newer and updated version of its smart home device which is called as the “Show”.
The device release in Canada makes it the first loT voice activated assistant which successfully released in the north of U.S border. There are rumors that Canadians will see Amazon based assistant Echo soon, but the release date regarding the product has not been confirmed by the company yet.
Google also added in a press release that the new device will launch in Canada under French and English language. Google home is now available for pre-order at Best Buy and Google Store while the assistant will be purchasable from 26th June in following locations – Bell, Best Buy, Google Store, Indigo, Rogers, London Drugs, Staples, Vision, Walmart, The Source and the Staples.
