D-LINK ROUTERS AND SECURITY CAMERAS LAUNCHED AT CES2018
Talking about Consumer Electronics Show (CES), it is a place where the global business leaders and innovators meet to prove their innovations and moreover introduce into the market their next generation of the innovations. This started 50 years ago and in 2018, D – Link company had its share.
During the Las Vegas’ CES 2018 show, D – link came with a stockpile of products. The products announced included the three new Wi-Fi routers, security cameras and to be precise 5 of them. Also announced was the new mesh networking system.
Ultra Wi-Fi Routers
D-Link AX6000 Ultra Wi-Fi Router
One of the most visible announcements by D – Link during the CES 2018, is the 802.11ax Wi-Fi routers. These routers will offer very high-speed internet connectivity and can serve many devices at once. At CES 2018, D – Link has announced the 2 -band AX6000 and the 3 -band AX11000 Ultra Wi-Fi Routers.
Talking about the 2 -band AX6000 Ultra Wi-Fi Router, this shall exhibit speeds of about 6000 Mbps and the 3 -band AX11000 Ultra Wi-Fi Router will display a rate of about 11000 Mbps which is quite astonishing.
Beyond the Ultra Wi-Fi Routers supporting DLNA and MU-MIMO, they will have a WAN port – 5 Gigabit, a 3.0 USB port and a LAN ports – 4 Gbps.
The prices of the routers are still concealed, and they will be available in the market at the second phase of 2018.
The Covr routers, employ the mesh networking system of technology where D – Link company announced two types. These are Three – pack 2 – band (COVR-C1203) and two – pack 3 – band (COVR-2202) Wi-Fi router systems. COVR-C1203 with its AC2200 Wi-Fi will cover 6000 square feet area. On the other hand, the COVR-2202 with its AC1200 Wi-Fi will cover a 5000 square feet area. Both systems, employ the MU-MIMO technology, firmware updates push notifications and the smart roaming.
The COVR-C1203 will be released in the first quarter of 2018 with a price of $249.99 while COVR-2202 will be released in the second quarter of 2018 with a price of $319.99.
AC2600 Wi-Fi Router
In collaboration with McAfee, D – Link has announced AC2600 Wi-Fi Router, which will scout on the threats frequently to offer protection to the loT products or gadgets. This router will provide connectivity to a hundred and twenty-eight connected devices due to the incorporation of the Intel system.
The prices for the router are yet to be revealed, and it will be released into the market in the second quarter of 2018.
LTE Full Outdoor/Indoor camera
At CES2018 D – Link announced some security cameras including the LTE Full Indoor/ Outdoor camera (DCS-1820LH). DCS-1820LH will connect to the US-based Verizon’s Network, and therefore it will be ideal in areas with no Wi-Fi connectivity. This camera offers cloud backup, full High Definition (HD) recording and 2 – way audio. The camera will support the Internet of things (IoT) services, for instance, Alexa, Google assistant, and IFTTT.
The LTE camera will be available in the second quarter of the year 2018 with a cost of $299.99.
Standard Wi-Fi cameras
At the CES2018 exhibition, a new variant of Standard Wi-Fi cameras was announced by the D – Link Company. These cameras will support the Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. The Cameras bear a night vision capability of up to 16 feet, sound and motion detection. The D-Link standard Wi-Fi cameras include the Pan and Tilt full High definition camera (DCS-8525LH) which will cost $119.99, High Definition camera (DCS-8010LH) which will cost $59.99, and full-HD Wi-Fi camera (DCS-8300LH) which will cost $89.99.
These cameras have palatable prices, though only used indoors. DCS-8010LH has a 720p recording and offers a field-of-view (FOV) of 1200. DCS-8300LH records in 1080p with a FOV of 1400 while DCS-8525LH has a 1080p recording, a pan range of 3400 and a tilt range of 1100.
All these variants will be launched in the second quarter of 2018.
Wire-Free Full-HD Indoor/ Outdoor camera
This camera (DCS-2802KT) will support Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. The camera has a 1080p recording and a FOV of 1400. Also, DCS-2802KT will offer both local and cloud recording and has a promising eleven months battery life.
This camera will be launched in the second quarter of 2018 at the cost of $219.99.
